Take my picture by the pool,’cause I’m the next big thing…
Written by ekg on October 25, 2008 – 2:03 pm -Do you ever wonder if they understand what it is exactly that this guy is doing?
Wouldn’t you think that somewhere along the way, someone would have taken them aside and said “Hey, you see that guy with the funny looking doo-hickey on his shoulder? Yeah, him. Well, he’s not playing a mutated trombone, he’s actually recording you..you know, on tape.” Someone along the way should have clued these guys in.
In 2000, John McCain was running for president. He lost the nomination but while he was running he made some great comments, such as this one.
Girl asking question…”Isn’t it like socialism and stuff….that’s their money not the governments, How is that fair?”
John McCain’s answer…”When you reach a certain level of comfort, there is nothing wrong with paying somewhat more”
huh…
Well, I guess he can just claim ‘mad cow’ and keep calling Barack a socialist for following his general tax plan from 2000,2003,2004. The plan that called for getting rid of the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy and letting the people who are a little more comfortable, pay a little more.
Or, someone could explain to him how a video camera works.
I would think it would be embarrassing to have your running mate promise to support and if elected, enact these polar opposite policies. But then again….She told congress “Thanks, but no thanks for that bridge to nowhere” when she really didn’t tell them that.
Of course neither McCain nor Palin want to spend excessive amounts of money for fruu-fruu things, stuff they like to call ‘pork’. They don’t want to waste tax-payers money. But she isn’t above wasting tax-payers donations.
It’s funny, because when John Edwards billed his campaign for 2 $400 haircuts, the entire atmosphere went insane. When Palin does it..ehh not so much. Maybe it’s because she really needed the swag she bought, being a hockey mom from a small town ain’t cheap ya know.
- $75,000 at Neiman Marcus
- $50,000 at Saks Fifth Avenue.
- $789.72 at Barneys New York
It’s takes alot of money to dress, shoe, and coif a family of 7 plus one boyfriend.
It’s really telling of a persons

character and judgment, that while Joe the plummer was watching his retirement shrink every day during the economic meltdown, the Governor was out shopping in the Big city. Those small towns might be where the “real” America lives, but New York City is where the “real” Governor of Alaska shops. It’s a shame she couldn’t find a “mom and pop” store, or a start-up clothes bouitque in some of those small towns she’s been visiting lately. Because I’m sure that with the way this ecomony has been lately, they could have used the $150,000 more than Neiman Marcus. Not saying that Neiman didn’t need the money, I’m sure they are suffering also. It’s just that I find it a bit hypocritical to run a campaign on the backs of small towns, small businesses,UN-elitistism, and Anti-excessiveness and then go on a shopping spree with donation from tax-payers in the biggest city on earth.
Speaking of wasteful pork, and extreme excess.
In separate filings, the state was billed about $25,000 for Palin’s daughters’ expenses and $19,000 for her husband’s.
Flights topped the list for the most expensive items, and the daughter whose bill was the highest was Piper, 7, whose flights cost nearly $11,000, while Willow, 14, claimed about $6,000 and Bristol, 17, accounted for about $3,400.
One event was in New York City in October 2007, when Bristol accompanied the governor to Newsweek’s third annual Women and Leadership Conference, toured the New York Stock Exchange and met local officials and business executives. The state paid for three nights in a $707-a-day hotel room. Garnero said the governor’s office has the authority to approve hotel stays above $300.
Asked Monday about the official policy on charging for children’s travel expenses, Garnero said: “We cover the expenses of anyone who’s conducting state business. I can’t imagine kids could be doing that.”
I guess $11,000 for airplane tickets for a 7 year old is fiscally responsible and I also guess that when Joe the plumber visits the Big Apple he stays in a $700 a day hotel. … I really guess I should have been a plumber.
OH and if you think people are only talking about this because the MSM is so slanted and so biased against Sarah Palin? I have a haircut for you.
so please, spare me the ‘woe is me’.
Let’s break this $150,000 down and see if maybe it’s explainable. The average American spent about $1800 on clothes in 2006, that means it would take Joe the plumbers 83 years to spend what Palin did in a matter of hours. It’s not just the amount that was spent, but the timing of it also. The down-to-earth, mother of 5, small-town Governor was out having her day of shopping and coiffing in the early weeks of September. Also going on in early September, John McCain was saying that “The economy is fundamentally sound”, and I guess if I was watching my running mate spend that kind of dough, I would think everything was rainbows and unicorns also. But those of us in ‘real’ America, the America that doesn’t have $5,000 for make-up, we were watching the collapse of Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, the bankrupty of Lehman Brothers and JP Morgan and the sale of Merrill Lynch. The 1st weeks of September, while Governor Palin was out shopping for extreme high end clothes, our financial world was collapsing.
But Joe, is “scared for America” if Barack gets elected?
No, it’s not explainable. Not even the explanation from the McCain camp of “They’ll be donated to charity,” is good enough. I can understand her need for clothes, I cannot understand her need of $150,000 worth of clothes for her, her husband, her daughters, her daughters boy friend, and her baby. I cannot understand that at all. I further cannot comprehend how this is proof of ‘fiscal responsibility’ or how anyone can keep campaigning that they will change Washington, they will make famous anyone who tries to spend too much, and they are the conservative party that doesn’t want to spread your wealth around. My only thought is that maybe this is what the members of the Republican party meant for their donation to go to. Maybe while they were sitting the kitchen of their home that was about to be foreclosed on, hoping they could get a few more miles on the balding tires, hoping that gas would go down just a few more cents so that they could start buying just a little more food for their children, believing that John McCain and Sarah Palin were the mavericks who were going to shake up the Government and stop all the wasteful spending, maybe while they were shorting their power bill by $25 so they could send in any kind of donation to help McCain and Palin get into the White House, maybe they knew that their money would go to her shoe fund. I’m sure they are proud that their children didn’t have new shoes to start school with this September, because they understand that Sarah Palin, her family, and her daughters boy friend needed new clothes from Sak’s Fifth Ave instead of, Target,Ross, or even the substandard white trashy stores like Belks or Dillards. Little Joe can be proud of his faded out tee-shirts and last year’s school back-pack he had to re-use, because really, they do look like a million dollars in front of the cameras…

and that is what’s important and what matters today. Because in today’s world, Michelle Obama’s off-the-rack $148 dress is the ‘real’ definition of elitism.
Wake up people! Wake up and look at your fiscally irresponsible ticket! They aren’t taking your money and giving to seniors who have lost everything in the meltdown, they aren’t taking your money to give healthcare to all the children in the United States. They aren’t spreading the wealth to the other 95% of the population, they are taking your money while your retirement portfolio is losing 50% of it’s value and they are shopping with it.
Let them eat cake?…you betcha!

The Hills have ayes…
Written by ekg on July 17, 2008 – 4:37 pm -Rumors have been swirling that Obama,Dean and Pelosi are trying to negotiate Hillary’s name off of the ballot at the Convention next month. It seems they don’t mind her being on the ballot as long as it’s as a symbolic, roll-call gesture . They want her name on the ballot, they just don’t want placed on the ballot for nomination.
Neither Obama nor Hillary won enough votes to secure the nomination. Obama may have 390 more of them if all the super delegates who pledged to him actually vote for him at the convention. But with his shine getting a little a duller and with 18 million voters voting for Hillary, having her name as a nominee on the ballot and having to listen to all her delegate vote for her would make his ass pucker. All it would take is for her to have prime placement in the speeches and just knock it out of the park. The amount of delegates she has and the problems with his incessant flip-flopping could remind the delegates that she really does have a damn good chance of beating McCain. If she, or Bill were to remind them that her poll numbers against McCain were better than the 46% he and Obama share now…. Who knows what could happen and that’s why he needs to get her of the nominating ballot.
So what can he do about that? Well he can use his political influence to make sure that she is taken off the ballot as a nominee and placed there just as his symbolic 2nd. He’s done this before. Obama only likes to win when he’s uncontested. When Alice Palmer, the former state senator who picked Obama to be her successor back in the mid-90s wanted back on the ticket, he had her kicked off. The problem with Hillary is that there is no legal reason to have her bumped off the ballot. More than that though, if her voters aren’t allowed to vote for her then it’s game on and party unity my ass.
It would be quite embarrassing to Obama if there was a open-air-stadium-like response to Hillary getting on stage and giving a blow-out speech.. This is his shining moment and Hillary can’t be allowed to outshine him once again. But at the same time, Obama wants to project a ‘party-unity’ that just isn’t there. In order to keep that faux-appearance, Hillary just can’t be on the ballot and steal the sunshine from his over-whelming, ever engorging ego. It would ruin his grand plan to take over the world.
Don’t think he has a plan?
Ha-ha Ha-ha Ha-ha
He’s going to give his outdoor stadium speech on the 45th anniversary of MLK “I have a dream” speech while being the 1st nominee to give an outdoor speech since JFK did it in 1960. Yeah, someone is a little full of himself huh?
Here’s the thing. I don’t really give a rat’s ass if it’s embarrassing to Barack Obama. His people screamed like little bitches that Michigan shouldn’t count because he wasn’t on the ballot when they are the ones who took him off. So could you imagine the screaming and race-crying if there was a plan in the mix to get him placed on the ballot as a token 2nd choice? I think Motley Crue, The beatles and Charles Manson had a prediction for that scenario called “Helter Skelter”
This Manson predicted scenario is really just one wrong move from happening as it is. If the press caves, if Obama misteps in such a way that it just can’t be ingored we might have to call Charlie “profit” instead of whack-o-nut. But it would take alot to make the press go against the messiah I mean have you read a story on Obama? The other day there was a story that comics can’t even make fun of him, in that story the writer says
“But there has been little humor about Obama: about his age, his speaking ability, his intelligence, his family, his physique”
Is he Adonis or something? Maybe he’s Jesus? Or maybe he’s the reincarnation of Budda himself .
Jon Stewart tried to make fun of him, but met resistance from the audience. He had to tell them “You know, you’re allowed to laugh at him.”
Things that make you go hmmmmmmmmm ….Did Jim Jones’ followers ever laugh at him?
Every week I decide I am going to have to swallow my hatred and get on the ball and get the bad stuff out about McCain. Because there really is a lot of stuff out there….. I mean look at this response to a question about his surrogate saying that some health insurance will pay for viagra and not birth control and women would like to have the choice (response at about 5:00).
Could you imaging him being asked a really important question? HA!
Anyway, every week I want to change. I hope that I can finally sit down and do something positive about Barack or if not positive then something about McCain. But every week Barack tweaks my ire with something else and I completely forget about the crazy old man that might just be our next president and I shouldn’t.
This man is just as dangerous and the other one.
How in the hell did we get these 2 “unelectables in a sane year” as our only 2 choices?
Three words
George W Bush.
Yes, that’s right. What kind of liberal rant would this be without putting some kind of blame on Bush? But it’s true. The DNC figured that no matter what and no matter who, they had this election in the bag. The republicans could clone Ronald Reagan and it wouldn’t matter. George Bush fucked this country up so bad and didn’t give one shit about it that anyone running as a (D) would win.
Look say what would want, but even McCain knows this and is doing everything in his power to avoid being linked to Bush.
So the DNC is all it’s wisdom gave us…. No forced upon us.. A liberals wet-dream. No the wet-dream isn’t a woman… No-no… the true liberal wet dream is a good looking black man. Harold Ford jr would have been my choice, but his skeletons have already been vetted out so a no name senator would have do. Hopefully he could get the nomination and election before they were weeded out by the press. But if not, what to do?
Then, a “Karl Rove like” idea was formed.
Anytime anyone dissed this candidate, scream racism.( Which as you know is the liberal kryptonite.) Scream it at every charge and eventually no one will make any more charges and if the do they can be put off as people who just don’t like blacks.
Howard Dean may not have known about Obama deciding to do the open-air stadium rapture until he saw it on the news, but he damn sure knows his liberals.
The problem is liberals don’t just sit silent and fall in with the party-line because the party wants them to. But to silence them forever Dean and his subordinates can only do one more thing to ensure the nomination goes to the exalted one. Get Hillary off the ballot at the convention.
It will be interesting to see how it all plays out. I hope The Denver Group accomplishes it’s goal. Because Hillary may be an old school politician, but she is still better and saner than anyone else out there. The question is though, are more and more people with the power to do something about it paying attention?

I’m a cool rocking Daddy in the U.S.A.
Written by ekg on July 9, 2008 – 9:25 pm -What an elitist dumb-ass…
Ok…… 1st….He needs to learn to speak English and quit the fucking stuttering. I mean for God’s sakes man, practice your speech… listening to you speak is more embarrassing than only knowing ‘merci beaucoup’ . Why is that more embarrassing? Because you’re running for the leadership of the last superpower and you sound like a dumbass. We’ve had dumbass for 8 years and we don’t need it anymore.
2nd.
“instead of worrying about whether about immigrants can learn English..they’ll learn English, you need to make sure your child can speak Spanish”
Are you fucking kidding me? I need to worry less about immigrants and more about my child learning to speak their language?
How about this Barrack. How about we teach kids English, grammar, punctuation, writing, math, history and science before we worry about teaching them Spanish. How about we find a way to pay teachers enough money so we don’t have 50 kids in one class. How about we use math teachers to teach math and gym teachers to teach gym instead of the other way around. How about we get rid of the FCAT that does nothing to benefit the child and can only be used against them when it’s time to move to the next grade or graduate. Or how about you worry about immigrants flooding over the boarders and draining the hospital systems and let me worry about what fucking language my kid should learn in their own fucking country.
What a pandering son of a bitch. Look, it’s simple.. You want to come to America fine. But you have o follow the rules. Come legally and become a productive member of society. That means you have to learn the language. Not because we can’t say “thank you very much” in French, but because it helps you get a better job than picking tomatoes.
Would it be nice to be like France and have bi-lingual kids? Sure, but it would nice to be like France and have universal healthcare also. It would be nice to be like France or England have a currency that isn’t lower than something called “the Loonie” It would be nice to have and education systems like Finland but unfortunately our politicians are more worried about making the American born conform to the wishes of illegal so we don’t hurt their feelings. Or so they give pandering politicians their vote.
Now before you get your panties in a twist. I have no problem with people coming here and doing it the right way. I think we benefit every day from people raised and educated in other countries. We are so self-aborbed that its good to get new blood. But when giving a speech on immigration and trying to find something to counter the unpopular “you should learn English” (which if you watch, is exactly what he did) the last thing you should say is “Don’t worry about me immigrating legally or otherwise or learning your language, you just worry about your kid learning to speak the native tongue of my country”
How’s that for a Fuck you to America from the presumptive Democratic party presidential nominee…
Oh but don’t worry, he and his wife are really proud of the country. She because she said “really” and he because he wears a flag pin.

calling all Obama-nations.
Written by ekg on May 11, 2008 – 9:00 am -So I figured this would be a funny way to look at Barrack.. I was inspired by lilmike saying he was happy to sit on info about Barrack until after he gets the nomination. So I said to myself, “Self! Lets see what’s out there on this Jr. Senator that noone really knows anything about.”
oh dear god… why did I do that?
I’m scared of this man now..
1st off….. an opinion piece from CBS.Com
–The Bad Company Of Barack Obama
National Review Online: The Senator’s “Change” Would Radically Alter This Country
Why is Barack Obama so comfortable around people who so despise America and its allies? Maybe it’s because they’re so comfortable around him.He presents as the transcendent agent of “change.” Sounds platitudinous, but it’s really quite strategically vaporous. Sen. Obama is loath to get into the details of how we should change, and, as the media’s Chosen One, he hasn’t had to.
But he’s not, as some hopefully dismiss him, a charismatic lightweight with a gift for sparkling the same old vapid cant. Judging from the company he chooses to keep, Obama’s change would radically alter this country. He eschews detail because most Americans don’t believe we’re a racist, heartless, imperialist cesspool of exploitation. The details would be disqualifying.
MICHELLE
So, instead, we get glimpses. The most profound influence in his life, his wife Michelle, is notoriously less circumspect than her careful husband about where she’s coming from. Her college thesis, which Princeton tried to keep under lock and key, testifies to a race-obsessed worldview. She may have refined it, but she’s never grown out of it.After four years at one of America’s most esteemed academic institutions, Michelle recoiled at the thought of “further integration and/or assimilation into a white cultural and social structure that will only allow me to remain on the periphery of society; never becoming a full participant.” That the sky has been the limit for her, that she has managed to ride the “periphery” from Princeton to Harvard Law School, to one of the country’s top law firms, and to a plethora of prestigious institutional positions, has not much altered her perspective. Through the windows of her mansion on Chicago’s south side, American society still appears as a caste system.
The United States, she says, is “just downright mean.” Never, prior to her husband’s presidential run, had she had a reason to feel proud of it, she told a campaign throng. But by last November, with Barack’s pursuit of the brass ring catching momentum, she suddenly got plenty proud. And confident: so much so that she was moved to tell MSNBC, “Black America will wake up and get it” — unite and carry him over the finish line.–
Michelle Obama scares the hell out of me. I have known black women with her attitude. Nothing can ever change what was done to a black man/woman/child in history. Nothing can ever be explained, forgiven or forgotten. They are fiercely proud of the hate that is shown to them, or the hate that they think is shown to them. Even when shown nothing but opportunity and kindness by whites, they will mock them behind their backs. . They will refer to themselves as “niggers’, not in the gangsta rap ’nigga’ form but in the hated racial form of the word. They are the ones who can never ever let slavery or any other black issue go because to do so would invalidate the ideas of the world that they have harbored their entire lives. It would take the power away from their pride. They dare people to do or say things to them that those people normally wouldn’t do. They bait them until they get an overblown, but understood reaction. Then they justify everything by telling themselves that they just knew it, that person hates black people.
If given power, she will be a dangerous woman. I fear her more than I fear Hillary or McCain.
Michelle Obama is Detta Walker.
Another look into Barrack’s past has to include the Rev. Wright. I don’t care if Obamanation thinks this is a dead horse or not. It’s serious and just because today he disavows him doesn’t excuse the 20 year service to this man. The Obama’s had to have believed in what this man was preaching. If they didn’t and stayed in his church, had him marry them and bless their children… then the Obama’s should be condemned for stupidity and feared because they are too naive and gullible and can be swayed by anyone with a pretty voice.
It’s either that or they agreed with The Rev and his teachings…
—Years earlier, the Obamas had gravitated to the baleful Rev. Jeremiah Wright, an unapologetic racist and hard Left firebrand. They were comfortable with him — and he with them.
By the senator’s own account, Wright is the inspiration for his memoir, The Audacity of Hope — the title is cribbed from a Wright sermon (“The Audacity to Hope”). For Michelle, who had written that a racial “separationist” would have a better understanding of American blacks than “an integrationist who is ignorant to their plight,” Wright’s Trinity Church mission statement had to resonate, right from its opening declaration:
Rev. Wright inspired his congregation – of which the Obamas were 20-year members — with “black liberation theology.” The doctrine is itself the inspiration of James Hal Cone, a professor of “Systematic Theology” at Union Theological Seminary in New York City.
Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community…. Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love.
For their part, the Obamas couldn’t get enough of Wright. Barack and Michelle had him marry them. They chose him to baptize their children, who were routinely exposed to Wright’s race-baiting bombast.
Which is it Obamanation? Is Barrack stupid or just hate-filled? You only have those two choices.
I think if you keep looking into the Obama’s and the people they associate with it’s pretty easy to see that that are far from stupid. Look at these associates
—BILL AYERS AND BERNADINE DOHRN
With this as background, is it really all that startling that Sen. Obama enjoys a friendly relationship with Bill Ayers and his wife, Bernadine Dohrn, a pair of terrorists?I want to be clear here: Not terrorist sympathizers. Terrorists.
The mainstream media, in their zeal to elect a Democrat, are assiduously airbrushing Ayers: “an aging lefty with a foolish past,” as the Chicago Sun-Times has so delicately put it. In fact, it is the press that is rife with foolish, aging lefties. Ayers, by contrast, is an unapologetic terrorist with a savage past – one who beat the system he so reviles when, after his years of fugitivity, terrorism charges were dropped due to government surveillance violations. He’s “guilty as sin,” by his own concession, but “free as a bird.”
Ayers didn’t just carry a sign outside the Pentagon on May 19, 1972. He bombed it. As his memoir gleefully recalled, “Everything was absolutely ideal on the day I bombed the Pentagon. The sky was blue. The birds were singing. And the bastards were finally going to get what was coming to them.”
Ayers and Dohrn have done the actual dirty work of terror, while Jeremiah Wright draws the line at waving pom-poms. But the prism through which they assay the dirty work is precisely the same: America has it coming.
For them, that makes all the difference. It’s not terror, just chickens coming home to roost. “Terrorists destroy randomly,” Ayers rationalizes with nauseating arrogance, “while our actions bore … the precise stamp of a cut diamond. Terrorists intimidate, while we aimed only to educate.” Right. As her companion Discover the Networks profile illustrates, Dohrn now goes even further: insisting their bombings weren’t terrorist acts at all: “We rejected terrorism. We were careful not to hurt anybody.”
It was at the Chicago home of Ayers and Dohrn that Obama, then an up-and-coming “community organizer,” had his political coming out party in 1995. Not content with this rite of passage in Lefty World — where unrepentant terrorists are regarded as progressive luminaries, still working “only to educate” — both Obamas tended to the relationship with the Ayers.
Barack Obama made a joint appearance with Bill Ayers in 1997 at a University of Chicago panel on the outrage of treating juvenile criminals as if they were, well, criminals. Obama apologists say, “So what? People appear with other people all the time.” Nice try. This panel was orchestrated by none other than Michelle Obama, then an Associate Dean of Student Services. Ayers didn’t happen to be there — he was invited by the Obamas to educate students on the question before the house: “Should a Child Ever Be Called a ‘Super Predator?’”—
There is more…. There is so much more. McCain doesn’t have to go into ‘attack’ mode, there are so many others out there that will do it for him. Obamanation will say he barely knew Ayers. If that’s the case then why stand on his steps and start your political career? Were there no other steps in Chicago available that day?
Obamanation will say that it means nothing that Ayers was at the same appearance as Barrack and Michelle and they is right. Just like it really didn’t mean anything that John Kerry was at a speech at the same time Jane Fonda was. The difference is that Michelle Obama invited Ayers. And yet, Barrack doesn’t know him?
Which is it Obamanation? Is he gullible and stupid? Or is he lying?
What is wrong with us today? Is it that we just have to have a black man.. and any black man will do? I know dozens of white girls who feel this way. I watch every day as they talk about having more and more babies with this guy and that guy. “This” guy and “That” guy already have 2,3, and 4 kids with different women. Like the adopted child is the ‘en vogue’ thing in Hollywood, the black male is ‘in’ when it comes to young white men and women.
I say Good! Great! I’m all for it. In fact I don’t care what color anyone is. I am thoroughly sick and tired of race..I care more about who a person is and how they act and what they are capable of. Color has never been an issue with me. But what is not Good! What is not Great is the ‘any black man will do’ attitude of today.
Barrack Obama is the candidate of Hope. But what is his hope? Is it what he was preached to for 20 years? The hope that God will destroy America and her whites? Is it the hope of his friends Ayers and Dohrn, that America will finally get what’s coming to her?
Look, Hillary is far from being a Saint. The dead-list that follows in her wake is a little creepy. But we know what we are going to get with her. McCain is a little unstable and maybe we don’t know everything about him either. But we know what we’ll get with him. Barrack Obama is the question mark. He is the unknown. And in order to get to know him we can get to know who he has in his life. That is always a good indication of what kind a person someone is. Take a look at Barrack’s friends and pastors and ask yourself, would you be their friends? Would you sit in that church and listen to that services for 2 entire decades? Would you invite that man to speak at your family dinners or to teach your children?
Yes, America is ready for a black man to lead her.. But NO! any black man won’t do… Think about it. He his either gullible, naïve and borderline stupid for his choice in who invites to talk or who he hang around with. Or he’s one of them and believes in what they do. I don’t know which is more dangerous…do you? If you do know then tell me please. Because the way it’s looking this black man will be the one we get and I’d really like to know what exactly we’re getting.
btw, I found a clip on youtube that will be one of the 1st ’swift-boat’ ads against Barrack..In it even he admits he not experienced enough for the job.

sorry, but you’ll have to c/p that yourself…. this new wordpress is horrible when it comes to links, quotes, colors…grrrr

Hope floats…. and then fades to black.
Written by ekg on March 23, 2008 – 10:12 am -…Shaheen, an attorney and veteran organizer, had said much of Obama’s background is unknown and could be a problem in November 2008 if he is the Democratic nominee. He said Republicans would work hard to discover new aspects of Obama’s admittedly spotty youth.
“It’ll be, ‘When was the last time? Did you ever give drugs to anyone? Did you sell them to anyone?’”
“There are so many openings for Republican dirty tricks. It’s hard to overcome,” Shaheen said.
who remembers that?
It was said by a Hillary person, it was said about passage from Obama’s book where he talks about how he smoked pot, drank and when he had the money, snorted coke. These are Obama’s words, not Hillary’s or her people. The point Shaheen made is a valid one… If Obama gets the nomination the Republicans will use this against him. The irony here is that there isn’t anyone out there running who knows this better than the wife of the man who ‘didn’t inhale’. That fact alone qualified her and her people to make that comment. And yet, Obama screamed racism when a ‘white‘ commented on his memoirs.
The race issue has been the pink elephant in the room that everyone is trying to ignore. To keep it hidden, Barracks people have jumped on any slight that has been thrown at him. It doesn’t matter if it’s a comment taken directly out of his book or not. To say it out loud and to be white when you say it makes it racism. But to say
“No, no, no, not god bless America, god damn America!”
or
“The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color.”
and
“…people of color had not gone away, faded into the woodwork or just ‘disappeared’ as the Great White West went on its merry way of ignoring Black concerns”
Well, that just makes you the crazy uncle who everyone loves.
Let me ask you something. Yes, we all have this crazy uncle, but do we spend a few days a week, every week for 20 years with him? Do we let our kids grow up around him hearing his craziness? And when we are forced to spend time with him, do we take our kids to the side and say “now honey, your uncle is just crazy, so don’t you go listening to a word he says.”
Has anyone asked that question yet, What about his kids?
We know Obama has taken them with him when he goes to church, we know that Reverend Wright is a racist and filled with hate towards whites and America. We know that Obama thinks he’s just a cute old uncle and doesn’t agree with him but still loves and supports him. What we don’t know is what Obama tells his kids after hearing one of these ‘white-hate’ speeches? Or one of the many “Anti-American’ sermons. Does he or his wife pull the children aside before or after church to tell them just to ignore what Uncle Reverend is saying, because even though we love the sinner, we hate the sin? Obama said he doesn’t agree with the good pastor and that’s great, it really is. He even gave a thoughtful speech on the subject. But has he given this speech to his kids?
Obama’s is a campaign of hope and change. Given what’s been said this last week I have to wonder what kind of change and what kind of hope he’s talking about. When a man can be ‘spiritually advised’, married by, have his kids baptized by and then exposed to such racial hate mongering, what kind of change is he looking to instill? What kind of hope are his children looking forward to? And after being raised on this kind of hate every week in church, what kind of adults are they going to grow up to be?
If I sent my children to the KKK every Sunday for their ‘spiritual guidance’ would I be hating the sin and loving the sinner also? Or would I be perpetuating the problem by living unchanged in stagnant pool of despair?
For years and years I’ve heard how blacks can’t be racist or spreaders of hate. This week I saw a black man running for president try get away with hate and fear mongering for just this reason. The question is will we let him. We have a choice in this country. We can accept that black people have a hatred towards white people and they are entitled to it. As whites we can hang our heads in ‘white-guilt’ shame and say, “yes, you can hate my skin color‘. We can treat ‘race’ like it is a ‘3rd rail’ because as white or non-blacks anything we say about race will only and will always be construed as a form of racism.
Sure, we can do that.
But if we do, I can tell you that there will be no ’uniting’ of the races. There will be no ’hope’ or ’change’. Because while whites have to live with their ’guilt’ out in public, in private they don’t think they have done anything wrong. They know they have treated everyone equally but because of something that was done to one race of people hundreds of years ago, they still have to bow and pay reparations today. Because of that, t he feeling of unfairness will not go away. The feeling of entitlements will not go away. Nothing will change and the hope will die.
That is one option. Or, at this moment, in this election we can come together and say “Not this time” No, Not this time will I allow you to threaten me with being called ‘racist’,. not this time will I sit back and let any one of any color damn American and lay blame for all their woes past and present at the feet of another race simply because of history. Not this time will I say, yes, you can hate me for my skin color and that is ok because you were oppressed once. Not this time will I allow you to point the finger at the other campaign and say they have used the race card when they are not the ones promoting and preaching hate and fear to the children and future generations in their congregation.
No not this time. This time we need to say enough! Uncle or no, You cannot teach your children to hate a race of people because of their skin color. That time is over. That time is dead. This is the time to move on. This is the time to heal. This is the time to teach our children to love everyone…. I will not ignore it this time. Barrack Obama, Shame on you! Shame on you for promising change and giving us hope while allowing your children to be taught hate by the crazy uncle. Maybe if your pastor and other pastors across the nation and across the times had practiced what you yourself have been preaching, change and hope would have come to us already. But for now, until all hate is stamped out, to dream of any kind of change is fruitless and destructive. For what will your preachers preach come Sunday if you do not win? Love all colors and all people of the United States? Or will they preach that once again the white man kept his foot on the neck of a good black man?
No Mr. Obama, not this time. Take your hate and your fear elsewhere, Because this country needs the unity of all races and all colors. And until you learn that and preach that to your children, you are no better than those that you condemn for hating your color.
