Greetings Floridians! Flounder’s TV dinner is on the road in the Bay Area of Nothern California. I have not watched television but I have enjoyed some entertainment while I am here. Thursday night I enjoyed a drive to Sacramento to see the AAA team Sacramento Rivercats. They are the spring training team for the Oakland A’s. That was an incredible game beating the Colorado Springs Sky Sox, which is the Rockies franchise. After the game I took an improv trip to Reno. During the week rates hotels are awesome. I stayed at the El Dorado for only 49 dollars. I left the next morning winning $170 which included $105 in penny slots, thats right I said penny slots.

Now for the good entertainment. Last night my friend and I went into the city to North Beach S.F. We established Cobbs comedy Club and saw Charlie Murphy. That cat is funny. His opening comic Paul Farmer AKA Freez Luv is very funny. I believe he is opening for Charlie next week in Orlando at HRL. Charlie talks about, well Charlie. He talks about boning, male egos, celebrities, racism. I never laughed so hard in my life. It is a high recommendation to see him and his buddy Paul next week at Hard Rock.

I hope I have not bored yall but at least I did an entertainment review. Peace out until next week when my TV tray is back in Altamonte Springs.

I just got back from California and I am working on my DVR. I am not a big fan of the CW, non major network shows but I am watching a great episode of Smallville, which airs on Thursday nights on CW. This was the season premier. This show is so good, it should be on a main network. Clark is dealing with Bizarro who is causing havoc in smallville. Bizarro heals and gets stronger with Kryptonite. Lex is a wanted man, he is being charged for the murder of Lana and doctors have lost Chloe. But Chloe wakes up in the morgue on the slab locked in screaming for help. Clark rescues her but not before Chloe finds out Lana is dead. Clark figures out a way to weaken Bizarro and send him packing. The episode ends with Lex in jail and Lois and Chloe back to normal. Viewers learn that Lana is not dead but in China. The special effects are awesome. CW needs to keep this show for a long time.

As I progress in my MBA education, my DVR gets filled with shows to watch. I really enjoy watching NCIS. Captain Rankin, a marine reservist was shot in Baghdad during a mortar attack. Tony is assigned to investigate meanwhile Gibbs and the rest of his team work the investigation at home. There is a new agent that goes with Tony. Her name is Jardine. Jardine is a germafobic. Gibbs questions an ex business partner of Rankin’s. The suspect whose shell Tony found was kidnapped and his tongue cut out. Agent Nikki Jardine does the time of death analysis with Dr. Mallard on the phone. The actual suspect is on a flight back to DC and the team head home. Nikki and Tony make a detour to her contact Jamir’s house to help with the suffering of his father’s loss. Gibbs gets his men at the airport. Mark Harmon is still the man. NCIS has changed this season, Lauren Holly is gone but the show is better than ever. I will take NCIS over CSI any day.

Hell’s kitchen is back with another batch (he-he I said batch) of promising chefs. It is a delight to see Gordon Ramsey again. Tonight both teams completed dinner service and there was no losing team. Both teams have to nominate someone for elimination. Chef Ramsey gives a gift to the teams but not eliminating anyone tonight. Rosann the New Yorker attracts me so far. I have not picked a favorite yet but give me time. Hell’s Kitchen is hotter than ever.

There really isn’t much on TV on Wednesdays anymore now that Big Brother anymore. To kill time, I watched Wife Swap. For two weeks women swap families. I have no idea why there are two shows that have the same premise, Wife Swap and Trading Spouses. Wife Swap has good drama, better than some chat rooms and web-boards that I know of. Wife Swap shows how good or bad these mothers treat their kids. I could not live like some of these families. Joy Tower a wealthy wife and neat freak, swaps with a low income/white trash woman Stephanie who raises the kids like rednecks. The house is messy with dirty and clean clothes everywhere. All this family does is drag race and their neighbors can’t stand them. It is fun to laugh at these families.

For anyone that watches or listens to Howard Stern, long time wack packer Kenneth Keith Kallenback has passed away in prison due to complications of Pneumonia. Kenneth used to blow smoke out of his eyes on Howard’s Channel 9 show a long time ago. He will be missed.

Now back to my TV tray.

Earl is back with a new batch of shows, (HEE-HEE I SAID BATCH). Earl is laying in a coma in a hospital bed from him getting hit by a car. Randy is helping Earl do his list. Earl and Randy a long time ago stole a motorcycle. There is a guest shot from the Orange County Chopper guys. In his coma, Earl is in a 50’s style sitcom. Alyssa Milano is also on the show. She compliments Jamie Presley very well. I hope Alyssa stays for a while. Randy is stupid as ever and I love it.

The Office is also back. Michael and Jan are having a dinner party. Poor Dwight did not get invited because it is couples only. Angela is now with Andy now. The party consisted of Mike, Jan, Pam, Jim, Andy and Angela. The so-called dinner party was a disaster and it makes for one hilarious episode. I do not know who is more stupid, Michael or Randy from Earl.

Scrubs is back too. As this season and probably the series winds down, Dr. Kelso is being pushed out and Elliot and Carla try to keep his job. The Janitor runs over Ted and Dr. Cox (he-he I said Cox) doesn’t care otherwise to keep Kelso. Good-bye Bob Kelso, we will miss you.

A new Smallville was on tonight as well. Thank goodness for DVR so I can watch NBC’s best while I record Smallville. Jimmy and Chloe are trying to re-spark their relationship. Clark and Chloe are looking for Braniac and Lana. Chloe is being hunted by the feds for hacking into the NSA. The feds want Jimmy Olsen to spy on her. The FAA has flagged Lex from flying. Clark goes back to the fortress to confront Jorel to attempt to save Lana. Jimmy Olsen isn’t so wholesome after all. He can dance and romance. Jimmy appears to be a James Bond type in this episode. I personally do not think Chloe is that hot. I would rather look at Lana all night long (thanks Paul). This episode was ok but it did not focus much on Clark. It is hard to watch Smallville without Clark as the main focus but I guess Lex, Chloe and Jimmy need to create the back-story.

Flounder is back and at a new location. My TV tray now resides in Altamonte Springs. The move is almost complete but now with a DVR, I can record shows and finally catch up. I have been scanning stations for new shows not repeats. Big Brother and Jericho have started to bore me so I still watch them but not pay a lot of attention to. I had a chance to watch The Celebrity Apprentice.

It is the final five now and they are Carol Alt, Lennox Lewis, Piers Morgan, Stephen Baldwin, and Trace Adkins. It felt so good to see Omarosa get fired last week. I love to watch this show because being originally from New York; it is great to see some scenery. Piers made it personal last week to destroy Omarosa’s team. This week the teams have to sell Quiznos sandwiches on the street without any celebrity help. Trace Atkins was in charge of the Atkins-Baldwin team. Piers, Lennox, and Carol are trying to beat Stephen and Trace. Piers and Lennox are starting to butt heads. The teams take promo shots. Trace and Stephen’s photo looks like Broke back sandwich.

Lennox’s team had a problem, the flyers were late and they haven’t sold anything. Their objective was to meet Lennox Lewis and get a Quiznos sandwich. Trace and Stephen look like they were selling the most sandwiches. The results came in and Lennox’s team sold 313 sandwiches. Trace’s team sold just over 200. It was hard for a cowboy in New York to compete against the heavyweight champion of the World. Which between Trace and Stephen will be fired? I will not give it away. You will have to watch next week.

I have been waiting for something to crawl from under the Donald’s Toupee. His rug is just atrocious. Good news, April will have Scrubs, ER, The Office and 30 Rock back with new episodes. April is going to be a great month.

Terminator: The Sara Conner Chronicles started last week. It is set around the year 1999. John Conner is 15 years old and in high school at Crestview. John is known as John Reece and the terminator dressed up as a substitute teacher is after him. It looks like there is a female terminator to help him. It does seem kind of lame that they couldn’t get an actor that looks like Arnold but oh well, I will keep watching. They did get a hot chick to play her. The action is as fast as the movie, which takes place a few years after Terminator 2. Ms terminator fights off the male terminator so the Conners’ can escape. She reveals Skynet will be operational April 2011. Sara and John go back to Miles’ house. Miles was the guy who built Cyberdyne in the 2nd movie. They transform themselves into the year 2007. The action is great but unlike Darth on Viagra, does it have staying power?

Prison Break is back for 5 episodes. Only five? This strike has got to end soon. Anyway, Alex is going back to Sona while Michael is in the hot box for the failed escape attempt. Lincoln gets 1 minute of family time with LJ. In order to get out of the hot box, Michael talks and tells the general about LJ and Whistler. Whistler and Lachero are still trying to make their escape. Bellick still has problems with an inmate and Alex is going through drug withdrawals. Gretchen, the mystery woman behind the kidnapping of LJ has been taken in custody thanks to Michael. Things are not always as they seem.

Sunday night’s Deal or no Deal was an 80’s theme. Washed up celebrities Deborah Gibson and Corey Feldman were helping the contestants. I guess we need to be reminded that Deborah and Corey are still alive. Deal or No Deal is a lead in to the new American Gladiators. NBC has brought back the show and it has another washed up celebrity Hulk Hogan. He needs all the money he can get since he has legal problems thanks to his son Nick and his Wife Linda divorcing him. I used to watch this show when I was growing up. The producers did not change the events. Regular people both men and women are competing for $100,000 and the chance to be champion. The contestants all showed determination and drive. I enjoyed the 60-minute thrill ride. I do not know if I can watch it every week.

Earl came back this week. Earl is out of prison and his list is gone. Earl goes back to be bad. Earl doesn’t believe in karma until. Well you have to watch it. It is the same jokes and trailer trash humor. The show is funny but it does get repetitive. Did Earl jump the shark?

Celebrity Apprentice looks pretty good. Gene Simmons, Stephen Baldwin, Marilou Henner and others compete for charity. The show should be called washed up celebrity apprentice. Gene Simmons is the biggest douche I have ever seen. Some of these celebrities have no business experience. It doesn’t take a smart person to be a boxer such as Lennox Lewis or an Olympic gymnast like Nadia or even ultimate fight Tito Ortiz. They are all good in their profession but I do not think this is where their talent lies. This show has way too many egos. I would rather see real business people compete for a job than washed up celebrities duke it out.

The writer’s strike is pissing me off. There really isn’t anything good to watch, when I am not studying that is. Finally Prison Break is coming back and the much expected Sara Conner Chronicles. The show looks good but it is hard to concept a female terminator trying to save John and Sara.

I haven’t pulled out my TV tray in a while and to blow off some steam of constant school work and studying, I went to see Will Smith’s I am Legend. The movie is based in New York City where he is the last man on Earth, or so he thinks. I will not give it away but the movie was well OVER-hyped. I should have waited for it to come to DVD or the cheaper movie theaters. $10.00 was too much for this movie. The movie’s story line s very slow and hard to understand at first. This was not Will Smith’s best work and it certainly wasn’t his worst (Wild Wild West). If you haven’t seen I am Legend by now, I would wait a while.

I have been in the absence of TV for the past couple weeks. My main focus has been my MBA program at the University of Phoenix. My classes are on Monday nights 6-10 PM. Each class is 6 weeks long and the tuition is almost $1500 each class. My first class, which is about to end this Monday is called MBA500, problem based learning. We have been learning about ethics, managing stress and change, communications issues, organizational behavior and more. The past two weeks I have been working on a 4000+ paper on the scenario we have been learning about for the past three weeks. With problem based learning, there are nine steps to solving a problem in an organization. I finished my paper on Saturday and was able to do some type of article for the Harb. My paper is over 5000 words and I believe is the best writing I have done so far. In each class, there is quite a bit group work that is conducted every week. I am expected to Graduate June 2009. This MBA program will make me a better candidate for a managerial position in the future. I use my knowledge from this course already in my job and personal life. The MBA program was something I never thought about until last spring. Nothing in this world worth getting is easy. Once this is over in 2009, there will be one hell of a party.

Prison Break was outstanding Monday night. I was able to catch it on the computer a couple days later. Now that I am in school, it is hard to find the time to sit at my TV tray and watch a good show. Michael and Whistler are getting ready to meet Lincoln at the beach. They arrange a fight so everyone would be in the court yard at 3:13 so they could make their escape. Unfortunately, it is too good to be true as they missed their chance and they leave the rope ladder hanging out the window for the tower guard to see. Lincoln tries to get LJ back with the help of Sucrea. Sucrea drives his car in front of the van carrying LJ and the kidnappers which causes an accident and injuring himself in the process. Lincoln begs them for another shot at getting Whistler out as they throw LJ back in the van and drive off. Meanwhile later that day and back in the prison, Michael sees something he can not believe from his window. Whistler is in with the kidnappers all along. Alex gets his chance for his hearing. His Paranoia is getting to him. This show is heating up. It now looks like Patrone wants Michael to get him out too. I cant wait for next week.
