Will the writer’s strike please end already?

By calidave • January 13th, 2008

Sunday night’s Deal or no Deal was an 80’s theme. Washed up celebrities Deborah Gibson and Corey Feldman were helping the contestants. I guess we need to be reminded that Deborah and Corey are still alive. Deal or No Deal is a lead in to the new American Gladiators. NBC has brought back the show and it has another washed up celebrity Hulk Hogan. He needs all the money he can get since he has legal problems thanks to his son Nick and his Wife Linda divorcing him. I used to watch this show when I was growing up. The producers did not change the events. Regular people both men and women are competing for $100,000 and the chance to be champion. The contestants all showed determination and drive. I enjoyed the 60-minute thrill ride. I do not know if I can watch it every week.

Earl came back this week. Earl is out of prison and his list is gone. Earl goes back to be bad. Earl doesn’t believe in karma until. Well you have to watch it. It is the same jokes and trailer trash humor. The show is funny but it does get repetitive. Did Earl jump the shark?

Celebrity Apprentice looks pretty good. Gene Simmons, Stephen Baldwin, Marilou Henner and others compete for charity. The show should be called washed up celebrity apprentice. Gene Simmons is the biggest douche I have ever seen. Some of these celebrities have no business experience. It doesn’t take a smart person to be a boxer such as Lennox Lewis or an Olympic gymnast like Nadia or even ultimate fight Tito Ortiz. They are all good in their profession but I do not think this is where their talent lies. This show has way too many egos. I would rather see real business people compete for a job than washed up celebrities duke it out.

The writer’s strike is pissing me off. There really isn’t anything good to watch, when I am not studying that is. Finally Prison Break is coming back and the much expected Sara Conner Chronicles. The show looks good but it is hard to concept a female terminator trying to save John and Sara.

  1. Originally the networks had stated that there would be a number of shows managing to keep new episodes going through January and Feb. I guess that didn’t apply to the handful that I like. Gene Simmons might be a douche but he has a business sense to be envied. Maybe it doesn’t show on CA. I would never willfully tune into anything with a certain former apprentice who is not a celebrity. The vast majority of bands from the seventies are washed up and rightfully left for dead. KISS has new shows coming up this year in March, promoting the Indy car circuit.
