The Harbinger

This is a little bar I’ve seen off Orange Ave on Pine Street a few times-intrigued by the stairs going DOWN to it (because, of course, in Florida we don’t have basements or underground things as we’d hit water) but I’ve never gone in. So continuing the semi-Fu crawl of the evening, we went in. A guy was playing acoustic guitar which was nice but a little too loud. Had to scream in each other’s ears. However, the bar was beautiful. Nice wooden bar area and side tables. A phone booth with door. There’s an area for seating-they used to serve food but opted not to when Florida passed the anti smoking law (anywhere food is served) so they could allow smoking in the establishment. The bar was filled with post-college aged folks which was nice as I fit into that category. Their beer selection was awesome-Blue Moon, Tucher and a ton of others. The staff was experienced and made a nice drink per the one person who did not pick from the array of beers. The bathrooms at this place are not made for the drunks…You go up 3 stairs and then when entering the women’s room you go up 3 tight winding stairs that reminded me of the Arc de Triomphe. I would go back here if there was no band or a quiet band…

Atmosphere 4-beautiful but the one man acoustic could have been turned down a little

Restrooms 4-small, tidy, but a bit hard to get into

Overall 4.5-great little bar!
