GQ exposes Rumsfeld's Crusade
Back in 2003, I was often ridiculed for suggesting that GW's war plans were spawned by his own visions of duty as a "born-again" missionary for his religion - his egotistical role as leader in the fulfillment of biblical prophecy - and the role such actions would play in his own selfish "salvation".
It turns out my claims apparently were not as unfounded as many of my critics suggested. Here's even more proof that, for the Bush Administration, this was a religious war with concerns centered in their own personal salvation and garnishing favor of their god - rather than the preservation of liberty and peace for the American people.
Scary stuff really. I keep reminding everyone of the bloody history religion has played in the wars of man - and how promises of "72 virgins in heaven" for eliminating the "infidels" is no more ludicrous or indefensible for one religion as the fulfillment of religious promises that Rumsfeld, GW, and Co. envisioned for their actions.
