My niece Tara has spent her life from 2 onwards wanting to walk everywhere, go for a ride anywhere, jump on the bed, play constantly, wash her hands and brush her teeth religiously and just be a normal, typical kid. Yes, it does feel like a full time job, yes she does push buttons on a minute by minute basis, yes you are dead tired by the end of it and she wants even more attention now that the new baby is in the house, but I wouldn't trade her and I wouldn't trade the 8 year old or his 3 month old brother who live with us right now.

Again, if kids aren't for you and you aren't willing to basically give up a lot of your time or life for the next 10 years or so don't even bother. Trust me, they don't just sit there all day doing nothing.
