Why would that be standard?

You seem to be saying that if they did change venue they would have to go to a larger metropolitian area than Orange County.

Sorry Pedro, Florida.

actually you seem to be saying that..not me

because I said a larger or farther pool..

Defense attorneys like changes of venue.  They think that it helps to eliminate the "home court advantage" that they think that the prosecution has.  It's the defense's job to do whatever it can to derail the prosecution.  It's not unlike saying "the liberal media."  It tries to give an impression of unfairness against them, whether it exists in reality or not.

And if he really did admit it was an accident, this changes everything, no?

This has been bothering me since this started. Why are people willing to risk their jobs, their freedom, whatever to help this woman? What is the appeal? What do you get out of it?

Regardless of my feelings on the case I wouldn't help a high profile person like that. If anything comes back on you it will be all over the news, and all your shit will hung out for everyone to see.

I also can't see how partying got that out of control. I've partied pretty hard in my days, but why would you take it to the point it destroys your life or causes you to kill your child (allegedly)? I just can't wrap my brain around that.

A successful defense would result in potential millions for a defense attorney, in future (similar) cases. $$$ speak more loudly than ever, these days.

I remember seeing you consume two entire Zimas in a single evening, back in the day Wink

IF ABC paid $200k towards her legal bills, it's for the rights to first/exclusive interview.  In hopes the ratings from the interview should bring a windfall of revenue.

As far as the guys go, they think they are going to get to bang her.

Or at least that's clear what her lead lawyer thinks.

The moral difference between a soldier and a civilian is that the soldier accepts personal responsibility for the safety of the body politic of which he is a member. The civilian does not.
