It appears incandescent bulbs will be officially Bulbis Non Gratis as of 2012. I, personally, hate the fucking new florescent tube-bulbs. They do not "light" instantly, they waver, they spend the first 4 minutes offering shitty, not quite light-light, and I don't believe I want a fixture remaining in place five years. Ever try to get a socket out that has detached from the bulb? Not fun.

Do you use the new bulbs? I am all for energy support, I just think I would rather run the house in the old long flourtubes, rather than these measly wanna be bulbs.

We have mostly compact fluorescents, but more importantly...how the fuck did they get that picture.  I have been looking at those fucking bulbs in my closet and think "I wish I could take a picture of a lit bulb".  Now that I have seen it I will have to actually try to make it work.

Oh and the only thing that bothers me about the bulbs is the "warm up" period.  This seems to vary with the different versions though.  The "soft white" or "natural white", what ever the fuck they are called seem to be the ones that are bad.  I don't notice it with the other cheapos we have.

Nowadays, some of the compact fluorescents can be dimmed with a switch. They cost a ton of money, though.

I would bet smoked glass, or perfectly aimed soft spotlights.

Well there is no dust on the bulb for one, but my shot is not as sharp as it could be and it could use a bit more white balancing.

I think in 12 years the light source of choice will be LED's and not fluorescents. They are getting very bright, very cheap, last 50,000 hours and cost nothing to run.

We use them and Dennis hates them cuz he's old and going blind. 

We are slowly replacing every bulb in our house with them. 

4 in every little bit helps...
