FWIW: I didn't have a problem with Sav filing for unemployment. She did the right thing.

Question: If there's no O-Rock, what's going to happen to this part of the board? Does it die with the station?

You're right. Presidents typically nominate people who agree with their views.

Employers pay unemployment insurance. If you lose your job, why would you not file for it until you get another job?

It's kinda like if you crash your car, but you don't use your insurance to pay for it's repairs... but a little different...  because if you file an auto insurance claim your rates may go up; if you file for unemployment, your former employer's (you know, the ones that just fired you) rates may go up.

No, I can't stand another loss, I'm still suffering PTSD from Lou Gossip Junior. I fucking ruled the Lou! I ruled. There  might be a message in there somewhere.

Speaking of staticky AM...About 15 years ago they came out with AM Stereo which obviously eliminated the music problems with it. Only problem, unlike the computer industry where they have periodic meetings to agree on standards so that most of the pluggy thingies work on all relatively recent systems...
the FCC basically said FUCK YOU AM, and let there be three different ways of transmitting it and receiving it. It didn't even have the chance to rise to the beta vs. vhs. It pretty much arrived with a toe tag already on it.

Who knows, maybe if there had been a viable one choice in AM Stereo reception the playing field would not have become so disgustingly homogenized...wait, I think I just figured out why there was no effort to make it fly. Maybe today's radio wasteland is the coliseums of centuries past.

Basically the man trying to convince the masses that they basically are all in agreement, providing little to no opportunity for descent.

In 96 I was advised to buy any AM stations due to the fact that the technology existed to make them sound better than FM stations with a vaster signal per watt.  Unfortunately, you're correct...the FCC ixnayed the entire action and thus, we're still at suck point.
