So I am driving around looking for pictures. I see a sign about a state fishing something or other. I know I am not too far from the river so I take the turn.
Drive a few miles…
The pavement ends…
Drive a few more miles…
Finally I see another sign and a “parking lot”, but I don’t see the river. So I park, grab the tripod and the camera and follow the “path”. It was about 100 yards or so to the water (like a football field, but with a hill). Oh man it was worth the walk. It a beautiful secluded spot on the river. I start taking pics, but I pretty much feel like they are sucking cause the sky is still overcast. Just as I am starting to get frustrated I pause and look around. Sure not getting a great pic of this spot would be a bummer, but just being there, the brisk air, the sound of the water running over the rocks…meh who cares if I get a pic. I sat down on a rock and just took it in for a few minutes.
Turns out, I got a decent pic…decent enough to help me tell the story anyway :)
So I am driving up and down mountains and fording rivers looking for interesting pics and end up getting one of my better shots at a park in the middle of town…
So I am here amongst the fall…this is the first time in a very long time that I have tried to take pictures of the leaves and I am having trouble getting it on film. Part of the problem is that the weather has been kind of bleh. The other problem is that I am about a week too late for the peak in this area. However, I am not sure that even with perfect conditions I could really capture this in a way that does it justice…at least on a grand scale. So what do I do?
Get closer…
I managed to find some fall…
I put a lot of effort into my jack-o-lantern this year, and I think it really paid off…
*no pumpkins were harmed in the making of this jack-o-lantern.
I was looking at a photog site last night and got the idea to take a picture of this knife. It is very hard to figure the best way to showcase this thing. I think I did OK, but I am sure there a better shot that is eluding me…
I am still kind of in a creative slump, but I am planning a trip northward next week to see if I can find some fall. I am hoping I can get a couple good pictures…
In the mean time here is a picture of some crabs…well what is left of some crabs.
Grow Jesus because he is awesome!
Can I get an amen!
So…what does your coffee cup say about you. This is what mine says…
