Don’t say I didn’t warn you…
So…my friend, the one who suggested smoke…her reaction to the smoke pic could best be described as nonplussed. I was expecting jumping up and down spinning and of course dancing. I do realize my expectations were certainly a bit high, but I certainly expected something other than…”It’s not purple.”
So…there better be some fucking dancing over this one. ;)
A while ago a friend suggested I take some pictures of smoke. I thought it was a good idea, but wasn’t really equipped to shot it at that time so I kind of forgot about the idea. Last night playing with the smoke for the laser shot reminded me of the suggestion. My first though was to try and get a beam of light to come down through the smoke. I realized very quickly that this was way to hard to control so I just took the flash and put it on the table and pointed it straight up at the ceiling. Then I just let the smoke float up over the flash and took the picture. Even the the shot sucked, I could see the potential and fell in love with the technique immediately. In other words…I hope you like this cause I have a feeling you will be seeing a lot of smoke pics…unless of course the incense starts to make my brain go hinky…
Taking another crack at the laser. This one is way more interesting, but I think this one might have a few technically issues. Like…I am not sure it is exactly focused so good.
Tomorrow loads of religious folk will give up something important to them. The hardcore people give up everything fun. I am not religious, but to show solidarity with my god fearing brothers and sisters I am going to give up something important to me for lent. No new pictures for 40 days…that’s going to be tough.
;)
Did you know that you can’t really see a laser beam…I mean the beam itself. To see the beam you have to interrupt it with something. For this picture I used some powder to do the interrupting…I think it will be cooler looking with some kind of smoke. I am going to have to get some incense so I can try it with smoke.
I took Nadia to the dog park today. She seems to enjoy getting out of the yard, but she also gets a little stressed. She is a bit intimidated by all the other dogs. One on one she does OK, but when the pack comes around she starts to freak out a little. Hopefully it is more fun than torture for her…
I heard you have a headache…have some pills.
So what do you think…is he going to jump?
A bowl full of LEGO makes a great snack.
