it’s something…

I am having trouble making time to take pics…there has been something distracting me…

Meh…I am not loving this picture, which usually means that someone else will love it, so I am posting it.

I was going to post this picture last night, but the website was acting up…

This something outside of my normal subject matter, but when I saw this scene I felt like I needed to take pictures of it. I am not even sure why. I really don’t know what to do with the picture now that I have it. I know one of the local news stations let people send in pictures, but of course they have no information on their website about where to send the pictures and what kind of information they want to go with the picture. So I will just publish it on my own…

On the evening of Sept. 26, 2008 at the intersection of Dr. Phillips Blvd. and Sandlake Rd. an SUV rolled over and impacted a street light, knocking the street light free from its base. The street light remained upright resting against a near by traffic light. Officers on the scene were concerned that the light might fall and moved onlookers back to a safe distance. Meanwhile members or the Orange County Fire Dept. worked to extract two individuals from the SUV. Both passengers where transported to a local hospital, presumably Dr. Phillips Hospital on Turkey Lake Rd. No further details are available at this time.

Someone told me that my pictures lately have been a little dark, so I figured I should explore that a little more…it is also good practice for lighting.

The idea is to get a very small part of the subject in focus…

I recently found out that I am a coffee snob. I was actually pretty shocked to find this out since I don’t like coffee. Confused? I bet. So here’s the deal. A couple weeks ago I got a coupon for a free Starbucks latte. So I have heard about lattes and half cafs and all that crap, but didn’t really have a good understanding of what a latte was. Anyway, since this is Florida and it is hot and stuff I ordered the iced variety. Dude behind the counter was trying to upsell me some flavors or something. I told him I just wanted what was free. Since I had never had a latte I wanted to try it as is. So he hands me the cup and I take a drink…nasty. I quickly added like 5 billion sugars and took another taste. Oh man. It was kind of like a coffee flavored milk shake…with a caffeine kicker. So I had to figure out how to reproduce this at home. A little bit of research and I quickly figured out that my best bet was a press pot. Unfortunately I found out pretty soon after that I needed to use good coffee.

So there you have it…I am a coffee snob.

When I was a kid I had a sandbox. It was a great sandbox. Actually it wasn’t really a sand “box”, it was a sandcircle. See it was made from a used tractor tire…a really big tractor tire. I know you are thinking this doesn’t sound so great, and even sounds a little redneck. OK, it might be a little redneck, but seriously it was a perfect sandbox. See it was great because it had a built in storage area all around the inside edge. This is a picture of one of those toys. I think it is in pretty decent shape for a 30 something toy that spent it’s entire early life outside in a tire.

Tonight I am bringing the heat!
