If someone takes a picture of someone else’s art who is the artist? Some people would say that photography is not art, but I say those people can kiss my ass. Sure it isn’t painting, but to deny that there is an artisitic element to photography is the same as saying that anybody can take great pictures. Well I shouldn’t say it like that because anyone can take great pictures, but only if they get lucky. But in the same vein anyone can create great art. Hell anybody can take some finger paint and smear it around on the paper and get lucky.
So I guess the difference is vision. When you see the shot or the painting or the sculpture in your head and you can create it. Hell what the fuck do I know, I just point my camera at shit and mash the shutter button and hope I get lucky. The trick is to take a fuck load of pictures…it increases you chances of getting lucky dramatically.
Anyway here is a picture of some art. It is some weird sculpture at Epcot. I liked the texture and thought it might look interesting in a picture.

I have done a paint by number recently. Does that make me an artist? I mixed the colors myself if that makes any difference.
