Not only have I been taking a lot of pics lately, but I have also been spending some time reading stuff online. Forums and blogs and message boards and flickr groups and stuff. Something I have learned is that all these picture taker type people call lenses “glass”.

“You need to get good glass.”

“What kind of glass you gots.”

“Save some of your budget for glass.”

At first you kind of say what the fuck, but when you think about it, it makes sense. See the black part of the lens doesn’t make for good pictures. What matters is the quality of the actual lenses inside the black plastic, and those lenses are made out of glass. So a good lens will have good glass inside of it.
