So we have this citrus tree that we bought at Lowes a few months ago. It is one of those grafted kind with like 6 different types of citri (citruses?)…anyway much to my surprise the fucking thing it full of fruits. The problem is there is no easy fucking way to tell what is a lime and what is an unripe orange. So we go out there and we say I think this is a keylime and try to smell it. As far as I know we have been lucky so far and had a few limes and a handful of keylimes. I think the one in this picture might actually be a baby orange…or it could be a grapefruit. Who the fuck knows really…

  1. I’m glad to hear those trees actually deliver as promised. Our citrus trees all took heavy hits in the storms 4 years ago, and the gentle upper grafts have withered all, leaving the hardy, more acidic roots to thrive. i.e. 1 in 4 fruits is barely juice quality.

What fascinates me in this picture is the dual subject matter. The positioning of the lens allows hyper detail on the lil tree frog (it is in a tree, it is, therefore, a tree frog), and yet a smooth transitioning detail yielding to blur on the “fruit”.

    Beautiful color.

Still cannot figure out what is going on down in the lower left corner. It’s distracting, but a crop would just infringe on the fruit’s placement.

    Nice pic.
